Construction Update
Written September 30, 2019
We are just a few weeks away from completing over $1 million in improvements to the existing estate and cannot wait to start hosting events! Check out a few of the most significant changes we’ve made to the estate recently.
An outdoor cocktail/social area under a canopy of lights
What once was a swimming pool is now the most perfect outdoor space. You can access this space from all the main guest spaces inside the estate - the bar, White Hall, Commons and Ballroom - making it a perfect spot for a cocktail hour or outdoor dancing. Our next project for this space will be adding railing near the stairs and hanging string lights.
5 new double doors in White Hall
We added a five new double doors in White hall. Four of the doors flow into the outdoor space where the swimming pool used to be allowing for events to seamlessly flow outside. We also added another double door that leads to a walking path along the woods in the back of the estate.
added another outdoor ceremony option
We now have four outdoors ceremony options - the canopy light courtyard, open field, pond and now the woods. This project is still in the works, but we created dirt pathways, started forming a raised mound and clearing in the woods. These areas will eventually be grass and a unique and romantic spot to have the ceremony surrounded by mature trees, nature and those you love most.
A paved half-mile, two-lane private drive
To allow for traffic to flow as smoothly as possible we added an exit-only lane parallel to our current enter-only lane. Pavement of this project is scheduled for October of this year.
A paved parking lot for 150 vehicles
What once was a field, is now a 2-acre parking lot. Parking definitely will not be a problem at any event at Lizton Lodge. 150 of the parking spaces will be a part of the pavement project beginning in October 2019.
Contemporary lighting and finishes in the South Wing
The South Wing received a fresh makeover with paint, a new stage and contemporary light fixtures to give the room an industrial feel. The South Wing also includes two restrooms, a lobby space and room with a kitchenette.
A paved walking path around the entire Lodge
We have created a new walking path all along of the back of the estate that lines the woods. This walking path will be blacktopped in October 2019.
